PIPS has been working hard to nail down a space for the Provflux and we are glad to announce that the Woonasquatucket Valley Community Build will be sponsoring the Provflux. Although there will be events all over the city the WVCB will serve as the hub of activity. Raw and industrial, it is a perfect setting for the event.
Check out some more info:
WVCB (woonasquatucket valley community build) has been developed to insure an evolution in public and private space available for freelance and education for the production of industrial arts. An Industrial art is described as: the methodology and experimentation or manipulation of material with the use of industrial tools to create art. One of the WVCB objectives is to instruct participants in an introduction to industrial metallurgy and allow for the creative development of the individual.
WVCB, established for ages 16+ to aid in the focus of goals and the attainability of marketable job skills for industrial application. WVCB also offers freelance space for individual development and learning. Through association with experienced artists both local and foreign, participants gain insight into broad artistic fields. The non-profit makes classes affordable and facilities accessible in a wide range of the industrial arts. WVCB will accept charitable tax-deductible contributions of, equipment, materials, supplies, and volunteers. So contribute, no object too large no participation to small.
The WVCB is also linked up with some other interesting projects like ARC(Arts Resources Center), so give them a look. The show is shaping up to be a great event, lots of artist from all over are involved and we cant wait to show off the best of what Providence has to offer...
