Bus Party
This is a portable party that will travel through Providence on the trolley's green line. Invitations will be posted at each bus stop along the route. Everyone in the city is welcometo attend, and cupcakes will be served. The party will begin at Kennedy Plaza at 7:15 pm on Saturday, may 15th, where we will take the Green Line in at least one complete circuit around the city.
The Bus Party is a celebration of the urban landscape that uses the city bus as a mobile meeting place for interaction. We hope to encourage public interaction by utilizing the existing infrastructure of public transportation to connect diverse parts of the city. This is a project of exploration, the ultimate goal of which is public space reclamation and celebration.
The trolleys run on compressed natural gas, and are the first clean fuel fleet in RIPTA's system.
