This two-week exhibition brought to you by Student Life Galleries will feature artwork from RISD alumni, students, and Providence artists currently involved with the Steel Yard. Currated by pips, this show features work in the following media: sculpture, ceramics, jewelry, painting, printmaking, and performance. The goal of the show is to celebrate the collaboration between RISD and the Steel Yard by allowing students to view artwork and opportunities. Steel Yard information will be available, so RISD students can become involved: on site.

24 Hour Workshop

The 24 hour workshop is a project to see how prolific small teams of artists can be for a sustained period. The idea is to perceive any place in the urban environment as a potential space for installation and creative activity(ethical judgement is left up to the artists). The decisions of where and what will take place will be made at the initial meeting point. Intended to be spontaneous, parts of the collaboration will change and mold to changing circumstances. Anything can happen. The first day of the project will be Friday the 14th of May. The non-stop work will be divided up between teams of participants at different locations. Throughout the event the artists will correspond with the hub and relay information about various projects. The 15th will be when maps and documentation will be presented at the hub.
